About the event

Lecture, demonstration, and hands-on minor repair techniques for re-setting unbroken headstones and footstones, re-attaching unbroken headstones to bases, leveling, and other appropriate minor repairs. The workshop will also teach appropriate cleaning techniques. 

The workshop is limited to just 20 participants who will learn skills that can be implemented to help make Our Historic Oakwood Cemetery  safer, while preserving the valuable history. Tickets are $50 for each participant.

Verville Preservation will provide the necessary materials and tools for participants to take part in the actual work.

Participants should bring their own gloves, wear closed toed shoes, and work clothes. 

Olde Towne Louisburg / Louisburg Historic District, Inc. will provide a portable toilet, bottled water, and snacks. 

The workshop is being conducted in coordination with the Town of Louisburg.

  • Intro Cemetery Preservation

    The workshop includes hands-on participation and physical work. Please bring your own gloves, closed-toe shoes, and work clothes. Verville Preservation will provide tools and materials. Olde Towne Louisburg / LHD, Inc. will provide bottled water, portable restroom, and snacks.
